The Self-leadership, has become an essential asset in the professional world, especially for middle managers who navigate between the strategic requirements of management and the daily management of their teams. Based on our recent survey of program participants Self-Leadership Lab, the results show a considerable impact on the ability of managers to make informed decisions and to assert themselves in their roles.

Why is personal leadership crucial for middle managers?

Middle managers play a key role in business transformation. They are often faced with multiple challenges: motivating their teams, meeting the expectations of managers, and managing complex projects. The Self-leadership allows them to:

  • Get to know each other better : participants said they had a better knowledge and understanding of their strengths and weaknesses after the program.
  • Develop their self-confidence : the managers interviewed saw a significant increase in their self-confidence.
  • Clarify their vision of the future : Respondents say they have a clearer vision of their professional future.

These skills are essential to effectively manage the responsibilities assigned to them and to successfully navigate an ever-changing professional environment.

The concrete application of self-leadership: tangible results

Personal leadership is more than just introspective thinking. It is action-oriented. 92% of participants implemented their action plan to develop their leadership, either during the program or in the following 18 months.

The results are also visible in terms of career development. 53% of respondents saw positive professional changes, such as promotions or company changes, within two years after the training.

The benefits for businesses

Middle managers, trained in self-leadership, report a greater ability to adapt to organizational changes and to manage complex situations. Businesses benefit directly, because these managers:

  • Take more relevant initiatives.
  • Positively influence their environment .

These results show that self-leadership not only strengthens managers' personal skills, but also improves their effectiveness within teams and projects.

On the one hand, companies are constantly being challenged on their societal, climate and governance commitments. Without always knowing what to put in place beyond specific actions aimed at inclusion or their environmental responsibility. On the other hand, employees are disengaging. Absences at work are at their highest, on average 2 weeks per person in 2023 in Switzerland. 42% of French people under 35 are considering leaving their job, which no longer makes sense for them.
